LG creating HD DVD/Blu-ray combo player, finally

We may be witnessing the beginning of the end of the HD disc format war, thank the Lord. LG is making the world's first HD DVD/Blu-ray combo player, allowing you to play either of the new formats without needing to buy two overpriced players. If consumers have any brains at all this will outsell Blu-ray and HD DVD players tenfold right off the bat. It's sure to be pricey, what with the standalones costing at least $600 each, but once people get used to not having to differentiate between the formats it'll be sayonara to single-format players.

It'll be unveiled next week at CES and should be released early this year here in the States. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that it'll cost less than $1,500, shall we? Come on LG, do it for the kids.
