The ABCs of HDTV
Chicago fans swamped TV stores in recent weeks snapping up high-definition TVs to catch their beloved Bears in the Super Bowl.
But it's price driving the sale of HDTV in Canada. As one Hamilton Future Shop staffer puts it, you might see HDTVs fly out the door if it was the Stanley Cup, but lower priced technology is the big consideration.
"Every year before Super Bowl, we see a bit of a rush. But mainly it's price," said Tom Roglic of East Hamilton Radio.
Some plasma or LCD screen HDTVs at $6,000 last year can be had for half that today.
